Safe systems of work

Health and safety policy at Longcross is driven from the top down. We believe that firm commitment and strong leadership from the board is the most effective way to encourage a positive health and safety culture throughout the company.

Responsibility for day-to-day management of health and safety issues lies with our managers who are trained to ensure that our employees, supply chain and other external stakeholders are protected from foreseeable and avoidable risks.

In addition to our comprehensive health and safety policy we have developed a management system to ensure a consistent and robust approach. This management system has been subjected to external scrutiny that has resulted in accreditation to the SAFE contractor, Constructionline, EXOR and CHAS schemes.

These same procedures monitor our supply chain to ensure it is conforming to our own stringent health and safety standards. All suppliers must complete our assessment process, designed to ensure that they are legally compliant, especially with regard to construction, design and management regulations. Our projects are often delivered against demanding deadlines and we have rigorous planning and risk assessment procedures in place to ensure that we plan and carry out our work in a safe manner with particular regard to public safety.
