Thanks to Longcross, our extension opened four weeks earlier than the official launch date, allowing us to exceed the target on our general merchandise budget. Longcross was a model of great teamwork and delivered a very demanding project.

Safe systems of work

Health and Safety policy at Longcross is driven from the top down. We believe that firm commitment and strong leadership from the board is the most effective way to encourage a positive health and safety culture throughout the company.

Responsibility for day-to-day management of health and safety lies with our managers who are trained to ensure that our employees, supply chain and other external stakeholders are protected from foreseeable and avoidable risks.

In addition to our comprehensive health and safety policy we have developed a management system to ensure a consistent and robust approach. This management system has been subjected to external scrutiny that has resulted in accreditation to the SAFE contractor, Constructionline, EXOR and CHAS schemes.

These same procedures monitor our supply chainto ensure it is conforming to our own stringent Health and Safety standards. All suppliers must complete our assessment process to confirm that they are legally compliant, especially with regard to construction, design and management regulations. Our projects are often delivered against demanding deadlines and we have rigorous planning and risk assessment procedures in place to ensure that we carry out our work in as safe a manner as possible with particular regard to public safety.
