Work began for the Oxford University Estates Department at the department of Biochemistry refurbishing several buildings to house the decanted students and staff. Since then Longcross has worked on around eighty projects for the university ranging in value from £70,000 to £3.5m.
The projects are varied and interesting, often blending of state of the art technology with historic listed buildings. The work requires care, understanding and attention to detail and Longcross works to balance the specific needs of each department and its teaching staff and students with the need to modernise the facilities sympathetically and the needs of the environment. Longcross has won awards for its contribution to the preservation and enhancement of Oxford’s heritage.
Flexibility, collaboration and good communication are at the heart of this successful partnership and Longcross looks forward to further developing this continuing association.
