Longcross began working for the DWP in 2003 on the refurbishment of a large job centre and social security office with over 300 staff who remained on site for the duration. The centre also remained open to the public during the works with phased activities being carried out in six stages.
The programme ended in 2007. A total of 70 projects were completed by Longcross and the DWP challenged us to maintain high performance through a rigorous assessment of progress against KPIs. On the final assessment of the programme Longcross were positioned at number one in the KPI score ranking table.
Along with tabling ideas to reduce cost, speed up construction and improve quality, Longcross demonstrated how to work as a true partner.
