Longcross scoops six awards at 2011 CCS ceremony - Feb 2011

Longcross Construction scooped six awards at the 2011 Considerate Constructors Scheme awards ceremony for its sites at Sainsbury’s Washington, Sainsbury’s Crayford Morrison's Minehead, Tesco Queensbury, Tesco Sevenoaks and Tesco Elmer's End.

Standards set by the scheme are high. Each year the top scoring 10% of sites are reviewed and shortlisted and only the top 7.5% go on to receive national awards.

Associate director Peter Beament said, “We are really delighted to have yet again received formal recognition of the high standards we set on site and it is a great tribute to all the hard work and commitment of our teams. Everyone in the company endorses the scheme enthusiastically, a fact that has been particularly highlighted in the monitors’ reports. Our site teams have come a long way in the last few years and I am pleased to report that our average score has now reached 34.55 while the industry average has remained static at 31.05.  All credit to everyone involved, and to our specially assigned CCS champions who continue to work hard to raise the bar further across the business.”

This recent achievement follows on from successes at the 2009 and 2010 awards at which Longcross received a Gold award for Tesco Littlehampton - this site achieving an outstanding 39.5 out of 40 - a Silver award for Sainsbury’s Clacton-on-Sea, and Bronzes for Marks & Spencer Stratford-Upon-Avon, Sainsbury’s Bury St Edmunds, Sainsbury’s Chiswick and Tesco Loughbrough.

Longcross is also an associate member of the scheme.
