Longcross in for the long term at St Mary's Hospital

Following a tender exercise for Imperial College Healthcare Trust Longcross have secured a £3million project at the Acute Assessment Centre at  St.Mary’s Hospital London.

The works comprise: 

The refurbishment of part of the 1st floor QEQM Building which involves the amalgamation of the Fracture Clinic, Clinical Decisions Unit, Rapid Assessment and Douglas Observation and Joseph Toynbee Wards into a new Acute Assessment and Admission Unit


The works will be undertaken in 4 Phases:

  • Phase 1: Refurbishment of the Fracture Clinic
  • Phase 2: Strip out and refurbishment of the CDU and Rapid Assessment Unit
  • Phase 3: Strip out and refurbishment of the Joseph Toynbee Ward
  • Phase 4: Strip out and refurbishment of the Douglas Observation Ward


The works to be undertaken consists of the following:

  • Complete strip out
  • Structural alterations to suit new layout
  • Replacement of all services including all mechanical, electrical, medical gases, offices and patient/visitor areas


All non-work areas are to remain live and fully operational throughout.

Works are due to start on site September 2009 and will run for 45 weeks
